_____________________________________ Inspired by *Fealasy and a few of her political inspired pieces, I decided to make a piece commenting on this article - [link] which I found one day while reading /. I have to say - regardless of your religious views - it's simply moronic to destroy a planet that we have to live on. It's not like there's anywhere else to go, you know? Furthermore, the concept of destroying the planet to bring about the second coming is quite frankly - delusional. If I was a loving God who gave my children a planet and gave them dominion - I'd be damn pissed that they destroyed it. No parent wants their children to destroy their gifts. But I'm not God - I'm a just another heathen who sees the manefestation of what she considers to be deity being destroyed before her eyes. They're drilling in our artic refuge. They're cancelling recycling funds. They're killing the earth I call mother. And being neither a great politician nor a soldier - this is all I can do about it. Perhaps enough people will see this and understand how wrong destroying our only home is. Perhaps one or two more people will become more considerate of our environment. Details - [link] ________________________________________ ___ *update* companion piece - Security before Liberty _____________________________________ *NOTE* If you happen to disagree with the political sentiments in this piece, please don't bother to comment. You and I are about as likely to change each other's opinions as we are to grow palm trees in Antartica. I'm not here to argue or win any debates. I'm here to improve as an artist. So if you don't have something constructive to say, please move on. _____________________________________ Daily DeviationGiven 2005-10-03This drawing is so poignant in so many ways, especially the smiles on what seems to be the walking dead. The words floating into the air are particularly intriguing. The Rape before the Rapture by =girl-withagun says so much about the world we live in today and has been beautifully portrayed. No - the blood is the blood of a rape victim - as the woman is a symbol for the planet - and how we are raping her. Thank you.

"I will stay to watch you wither away,
and with any luck you may be hit by a truck,
and I will remain to dance upon your grave,
Oh, look, can't you see how much your death means to me,
Please won't you play in a busy street"
